Los Angeles KYBELLA® Procedures
Improve the Look of Your Profile
Excess chin fat is a common condition that can create the appearance of a “double chin”. KYBELLA® is a nonsurgical, injectable treatment used to destroy fat cells in that area and thereby creating a sleeker chin.
If you are irritated by chin fat, rest assured that you are not alone. In 2015, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery conducted a survey that reported 67 percent of people are bothered by excess chin and/or neck fat. At My Aesthetic Doctor, our board-certified physician personally administers the FDA-approved KYBELLA® treatment.

What You Should Know About KYBELLA®
KYBELLA® is suitable for most patients over the age of 18 who wish to reduce chin fat. However, if you have had facial surgery, or are struggling with a swallowing disorder, this treatment may not be safe for you. Women who are pregnant or nursing should not receive KYBELLA® injections.
How KYBELLA® works:
- KYBELLA® is a simple, outpatient procedure, so you can expect to go home and resume normal activities once the treatment is over. However, you may experience some swelling and pain immediately afterward.
- Avoid blood thinning medications like ibuprofen or aspirin before the procedure to reduce the risk of bruising.
- KYBELLA® contains deoxycholic acid, which is a substance naturally produced in the body to absorb fat.
- It takes several injections under the chin to produce the desired results; usually anywhere between 20 to 50.
- Not all injections will take place at once. Treatments can be spaced out over 3- 6 separate appointments with one month waiting period between each one.
Some pain, redness, and swelling may occur after receiving KYBELLA® injections, but these usually fade away within two weeks. Contact a healthcare provider immediately if you experience any rare side effects such as an uneven smile or difficulty swallowing.
